Preliminary test

The preliminary testing showed an endotherm at approximately 107°C which was consistent with the melting temperature of the test item from the Certificate of Analysis. These preliminary tests were performed in manually pierced crucibles and therefore allowed

significant volatilization of the test item below its boiling point, causing a wide endotherm for the boiling temperature.

Definitive test

The definitive test was performed with a starting temperature above the melting temperature in laser perforated crucibles which allow for a degree of pressurization in the crucible, preventing premature volatilization of the test item. This gives a narrower endotherm and allows quantification of the boiling temperature.

Conclusions:
The experimentally determined boiling point is 400 ± 1 °C at 99.4 kPa.
