Additional information

Short-term toxicity studies on fish, invertebrates and algae are available with the registered substance (2 -methyltetrahydrofuran). Short term L(E)C50 values have been determined as >100 mg/L for fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss), >139 mg/L for invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and >104 mg/L for algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus). A NOEC value of =104 mg/L was also derived in the algal study.

A long term toxicity study (21 days) is available for invertebrates. The long-term invertebrate NOEC value has been determined as =120 mg/L (Daphnia magna).

A long-term toxicity to fish study has been waived on the basis that Risk Characterisation Ratios (RCRs) based on PNECaquaticderived from the existing data are less than 1 (see CSR section 10).
