Additional information

Acute aquatic toxicity studies are available for three trophic levels. The most sensitive organism in acute toxicity testing was Leuciscus idus with a LC50 of 6.78 mg/l. In Daphnia magna an EC50 of 6.8 mg/l was determined. The EC50 detected in algae (Scenedesmus subspicatus) was 103.84 mg/l based on algal growth rate.

Chronic aquatic toxicity studies are not available. Considering the a/c-ratio, corresponding studies are not considered to have a relevant influence on the risk assessment and thus no further studies are proposed.

The PNEC calculations are based on the results of the acute toxicity test performed with L idus. For the sediment and terrestric compartments the equilibrium partitioning method has been used.

The PNEC STP was calculated using the EC50 of ca. 160 mg/l determined in a respiration inhibition test conducted with domestic, activated sludge.
