Description of key information

In accordance with Annex XI, point 1 “study is scientifically not necessary/other information available”, the registrant considers that the recent provision of an OECD 309 guideline study establishes that the compound already meets the persistence criteria and hence no useful results would be obtained from an additional OECD 307 study. The registrant notes that in their compliance decision (CCH-D-2114328634-49-01/F; 3 May 2016) mandating the OECD 309 study (stated to be “a standard information requirement as laid down in Annex IX section 9.2.1.2 of the REACH Regulation”) ECHA observed that “the substance has wide dispersive professional and consumer uses with default uses to water and soil”. Nonetheless, at that time ECHA did not consider it necessary to require an OECD 307 soil study (also a standard information requirement as laid down in Annex IX section 9.2.1.3) be undertaken.
