Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Data on the acute toxicity of source substance A (Ethoxylated bisphenol A diacrylate) and source substance B (2 moles Ethoxylated bisphenol A dimethacrylate) in freshwater organisms (fish, algae and microorganisms) were used to fill by read across the same ecotoxicological endpoints of the test item.

This read-across approach is confirmed by the result of a short-term toxicity test on aquatic invertebrates on the target substance, in which no effects to Daphnia magna were detected up to the limit of solubility.

Long-term toxicity data to aquatic invertebrates and to fish are also available on source substance B (2 moles Ethoxylated bisphenol A dimethacrylate). In an OECD 211 limit test, no effects were observed on survival, mobility or reproduction on Daphnia magna exposed to 10mg/L nominal concentration after 21 days. In addition, in an OECD 210 study, no effects on survival, body weight nor length were observed up on Danio rerio to the limit of solubility of the test substance, after 34 days. These results are also used in a read-across approach to support the chemical safety assessment of the target substance.
