Conclusions:
The flash point of 2,3-butanediol ((2R,3S)-rich) was 96 °C.
Executive summary:

The study was performed to determine the flash point of 2,3-butanediol ((2R,3S)-rich) by means of flash point tester according to EU method A.9 (closed cup method). The flash point was determined as the lowest temperature at which application of an ignition source caused the vapour of the test item to ignite under specified conditions of test. The test item was placed in a test vessel and heated or cooled at the test temperature according to the test method (room temperature ~ 290 °C). Ignition trials were carried out in order to ascertain whether or not the sample flashed at the test temperature.

The flash point of 2,3-butanediol ((2R,3S)-rich) was 96 °C.
