- Conclusions:
- The burning index for the dust of Fatty acids, C14-18 and C16-18-unsatd., ammonium salts is expected with 2.
It could be expected that Fatty acids, C14-18 and C16-18-unsatd., ammonium salts is "not highly flammable". - Endpoint:

- Endpoint:
- substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water

Based the structural analogue from sodium oleate, sodium stearate, Fatty acids, coco, sodium salts and Fatty acids, tallow, sodium salts to Fatty acids, C14-18 and C16-18-unsatd., ammonium salts it could be expected that Fatty acids, C14-18 and C16-18-unsatd., ammonium salts is also "not highly flammable" (the burning index for the dust of Fatty acids, C14-18 and C16-18-unsatd., ammonium salts is expected with 2).
Description of key information
The substance is neither a flammable gas, a pyrophoric gas nor a chemically unstable gases.
The substance is not used as an aerosol.
The substance is not flammable (it is hardly combustible).
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flammability:
- not classified
Additional information
The substance does not need to be classified as a flammable gas, a pyrophoric gas or a chemically unstable gases because substance is a liquid ( paste-like).
The substance does not need to be classified for aerosols because the substance is not used as a aerosol (no receptacles containing a gas compressed) and is only used in liquid sate.
The substance is not considered to be classified as flammable liquids as there are a expected flash point above 93°C.
The substance does not need to be classified as flammable solids because the substance is a liquid ( paste-like).
(Based on the expected burning number of 2 (from the supporting substances) it is considered to be classified as not highly flammable).
Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.
Based on chemical structure and on practical experience self-heating properties are not to be expected.
Justification for classification or non-classification
DSD (67/548/EEC): Based on the chemical structure, the flash point and taking into account the provisions laid down in Directive 67/548/EEC the substance is not considered to be classified as extremely flammable, highly flammable, liberates flammable gases in contact with water, spontaneously flammable in air or flammable.
GHS/CLP (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008): Based on the chemical structure, the physical state, the substance use, the flash point and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable gases, aerosols, flammable liquids, flammable solids, pyrophoric liquids, pyrophoric solids, self heating substances or mixtures or substance or mixture which in contact with water emits flammable gases.
