Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
FAT 20004 is a brownish coloured, odourless solid powder. The test substance FAT 20004 did melt at 282 °C, whereas begin of thermic decomposition was observed at 320°C. Therefore, no boiling point was observed. Average density of FAT 20004 was found to be 1.1.3518 g/cm³ at 20 °C temperature, with a median particle size of 5.77 μm. The vapor pressure of FAT 20004/J has been calculated to be 8.9 x 10-12 Pa at 25 °C using a procedure detailed in Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Part A: Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties and the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals. The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of FAT 20004 at 20 °C was determined to Log POW = -2.18. The water solubility of FAT 20004 at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to be 100 g/l (without correction for the purity). The surface tension of FAT 20004 was determined to be 64 mN/m at 20 °C. Because the test substance is a solid the flash point of FAT 20004 was not determined. In accordance with Section 2 of REACH Annex XI, information requirement section 7.9, this study does not need to be conducted based on the physical state of the substance. According to ECHA guidance, flash point is only relevant to substances that are liquid at room temperature. The auto-ignition temperature of FAT 20004 is >550 °C. The analysis of the chemical structures of the test substance FAT 20004 reveals no alerts for explosive properties. The calculated chemical oxygen balance is below the trigger value of -200 and the determination of the exothermic decomposition energy demonstrated no energy release above the critical value of 500 J/g. Therefore, the substance is considered to be non-explosive according to Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and no further testing is required. Oxidising properties of FAT 20004 was not determined. In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII, this study does not need to be conducted as this substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of its chemical structure.
