Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
flammable gases
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

In accordance with point 7.10, Column 2, Annex VIII and Annex XI of Regulation 1907/2006, the performance of these studies is scientifically unnecessary. The flammability of liquids is determined on the basis of their flashpoint (in combination with their boiling point), their ability to emit flammable gases upon contact with water and their pyrophoricity. The molecular structure of the substance does not contain groups that indicate potential reactivity with water or pyrophoric properties and handling of the substance indicates that this is the case. Furthermore the results of the submitted flashpoint study indicate that the substance is not a flammable liquid. Testing in accordance with EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids)), EU Method A.11 (Flammability (Gases)), EU Method A.12 (Flammability (Contact with Water)) and EU Method A.13 (Pyrophoric Properties of Solids and Liquids) is therefore not required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
