Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
25 February 2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: The study was carried out using GLP.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
ca. 320 °C
Conclusions:
The boiling point of substance 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane (EC No. 500-033-5)was measured using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The boiling point could not be measured because the substance thermally decomposed. The mass loss started at a temperature of 320°C.
Executive summary:

The boiling temperatures of the test substance, 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, oligomeric reaction products with 1 -chloro-2,3 -epoxypropane was tested using the Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) method.

The procedures used in the study were in accordance with:

Method A.2 – Boiling Temperature (1.6.6.2 Differential scanning calorimetry), Council Regulation (EC) No.440/2008, Published in O.J. L 142, 2008

OECD Test Guideline No.103, Boiling Point, Adopted July 27, 1995

Thermal decomposition of the test substance through loss of the mass started approximately at the temperature 320°C.

Boiling temperature of the test substance,4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, could not be determined because of thermal decomposition of the sample.

Description of key information

The boiling point of substance 4,4'-Isopropylidenediphenol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane (EC No. 500-033-5)was measured using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
