The octanol/water partition coefficient of Thiram was found to be 64.3 (log10 Pow = 1.81) in pH 4 buffer solution, 69.2 (log10 Pow = 1.84) in pH 7 buffer solution, and 65.8 (log10 Pow = 1.82) in pH 9 buffer solution at 20 °C.

The partition coefficient of purified thiram is independent of pH in the range of pH 4 to 10

During the determination of the partition coefficient at neutral conditions, the temperature of the column oven was at 37.5 ± 0.1°C and during the determinations at pH 10 and pH 4, the temperature of the column oven was at 40.5 ± 0.3°C which is well within the ± 1°C specified by the test method. For all three pH conditions, there was no ambiguity in assigning retention times to the test item and any of the reference compounds
