Toxicity studies with terrestrial organism has been performed with earthworm (Eisenia fetida) and with six different plants. A seedling emergence and seedling growth test with the test substance on six plant species (two monocotyledons, four dicotyledons) that can be considered as long-term test has been conducted over a period of 21 days according to guideline OECD208. The plant species raps showed the lowest NOEC of 111 mg/kg soil dry weight for shoot fresh weight and a corresponding EC50 of 698 mg/kg soil dry weight. The seedling emergence was not inhibited in all tested plant species. Therefore, the NOEC for seedling emergence is >= 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight for all tested plant species.
In a short-term toxicity study with Eisenia fetida (earthworm), neither significant mortalities, nor changes in body weight have been observed, also no pathological symptoms or changes in earthworm behavior occurred. Therefore, the NOEC was determined to be >=1000 mg/kg soil dry weight. The toxicity of the test substance on mortality, biomass and reproduction of earthworms has also been tested in a long-term (8 weeks) test according to guideline OECD TG 222. After 28 days of exposure in soil, neither evident mortalities nor significant pathological symptoms or changes in the behavior of adult earthworms has been observed (NOEC >= 1000 mg/kg sdw). There were no statistically significant differences in earthworm body weight and reproduction in the treatment rates 62.5 to 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight compared to the pooled control.
