Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information
No information was available for the test substance. Information is available from the analagous substance, triethoxysilyl)proprionitrile (CAS number 919-31-3) The available information for the analogous substance is derived from reliable studies. No other data were available for this substance. The results of both the studies were in agreement. It has been stated that information is available for the analogous substance from in vitro mutagenicity in mammalian cells, but this was not available to the reviewer.
Short description of key information:
In vitro:
Gene mutation (Bacterial reverse mutation assay / Ames test): read-across from analogous substance: negative with and without activation in all strains tested (OECD TG 471)
Cytogenicity in mammalian cells: read-across from analogous substance: negative in cultured human lymphocytes (OECD TG 473)
Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)
Justification for classification or non-classification
There is no information available for the registered substance. Information is available for the analogous substance, 3 -(triethoxysilyl)proprionitrile (CAS number 919 -31 -3). This information indicates that, when tested in vitro, 3 -(triethoxysily)proprionitrile (CAs number 919 -31 -3) does not induce mutations in bacterial cells, nor chromosome aberrations in mammalian cells. It is considered that read-across to the registered substance is both valid and scientifically justifiable. Therefore it is considered that classification of 3 -(trichlorosilyl)proprionitrile, CAS number 1071 -22 -3, for mutagenicity is not required.
Information on Registered Substances comes from registration dossiers which have been assigned a registration number. The assignment of a registration number does however not guarantee that the information in the dossier is correct or that the dossier is compliant with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (the REACH Regulation).
