A logKow of 2.68 at 30 °C at pH 7.1 was determined for TCPP using the HPLC method according to the EU-method A.8. TCPP constituents eluated in one peak using this HPLC method.

A calibration curve was constructed from the retention time data of thiourea and reference standard solutions. The reference standards were 2 -Butanone, Benzonitrile, Toluene, Naphthalene, Phenanthrene and DDT. For TCPP, the capacity factor was calculated and the logKow value was determined with reference to the calibration curve.

The stated value is supported by another experimental study and QSAR calculation for the main constituent of TCPP tris(2-chloro-1-methylethyl)phosphate. In the experimental study a logKow of 2.59 was determined. The QSAR determination of the logarithmic octanol-water partition coefficient for the main constituent of TCPP tris(2-chloro-1-methylethyl)phosphate using the model KOWWIN included in the Estimation Program Interface (EPI) Suite v4.11 revealed a value of 2.89 of the substance.
