Description of key information

The flammability of the solid salicylic acid was assessed through a UN test procedure N1 test.
The test substance melted when approached by the ignition flame. The substance did not burn up or burn down. No further testing was required.
Under the conditions of the procedure N1 of UN manual for burning rate measure, salicylic acid can not be considered as flammable.
