Additional information

Aquatic studies are available for Daphnia, fish and algae. A study is also available for toxicity to STP microorganisms. Long-term studies were not considered necessary as the substance is not classified as hazardous to the environment and is readily biodegradable.

The 96-hour LC50 for the fish Danio rerio was found to be 3.0 mg/L.

The 48 -hour EC50 for Daphnia magna was found to be 1.1 mg/L.

The 72 -hour EC50 for growth rate of algae was found to be 1.88 mg/L

The 3 -hour EC50 for respiration inhibition of activated sludge microorganisms was found to be >10000 mg/L.

The lowest acute L(E)C50 is 1.1 mg/L, and as such the substance does not attract classification for acute aquatic toxicity. However, as the log Kow is greater than 4 and the lowest acute L(E)C50 is between 1 mg/L and 10 mg/L, the substance is classified as toxic to aquatics, chronic category 2.
