Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For oral toxicity the LD50 was calculated as 660 mg/kg BW to rats.

By occluded dermal dressing the LD50 was calculated as 1120mg/kg BW to rabbits, or above.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Acute toxicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Value:
660 mg/kg bw

Acute toxicity: via inhalation route

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed
Dose descriptor:
discriminating conc.
Value:
3 320 mg/m³ air
Quality of whole database:
Single group, whole body exposure to a concentration that was rising over the test period of 220 minutes. The concentrations analysed at 60, 120 and 180 minutes were 209, 500 and 1300ppm respectively. Control rats were held in the chamber without test material exposure.
The LDlow is taken as a mean of the three chamber analysed concentrations. While this is a measured concentration the lack of adverse effects indicate the LClow is likely to be considerably higher than this value.

Acute toxicity: via dermal route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LD50
Value:
1 120 mg/kg bw

Additional information

Harmful if swallowed and by skin contact.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification according to Annex I of the directive 67/548/EEC - 26. on the basis of acute toxicity:

T Toxic, R 21 Harmful in contact with skin. R 25 Toxic if swallowed

Classification by CLP, Acute Cat 4, Warning: Harmful if swallowed. Harmful in contact with skin.
