Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information: Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation is recommended for at least 48 hours after the accident. Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. Remove breathing equipment only after contaminated clothing have been completely removed.
After inhalation: Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist. In case of unconsciousness , place patient in recovery position.
After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Consult a doctor.
After swallowing: Call for a doctor immediately. Induce vomiting, if person is conscious. Seek medical help.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.
Special hazards caused by the substance, its products of combustion or resulting gases: Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire. In case of fire, vanadiumoxide can be released.
Protective equipment: Do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases. Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.
Additional information: Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It should not enter the sewage system. Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.
Accidental release measures
Person-related safety precautions: Avoid formation of dust. Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.
Measures for environmental protection: Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water. Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system. In case of seepage into the ground inform responsible authorities.
Measures for cleaning/collecting: Pick up mechanically. Ensure adequate ventilation. Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles.
Handling and storage
Handling
Information for safe handling: Prevent formation of dust. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Waste air is to be released into the atmosphere only via suitable separators. Take note of emission threshold. Keep receptacles tightly sealed. Open and handle receptacle with care.
Information about fire - and explosion protection: The product is not flammable.
Storage
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: No special requirements.
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Do not store with alkalis (caustic solutions).
Further information about storage conditions: Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles. Keep receptacle tightly sealed.
