Description of key information
The calculated partition coefficient for n-Decyl methacrylate was determined to be log Pow: 5.70 (KOWWIN 1.67). Log Pow > 3.

In a valid key study the measured partition coefficient for the structural analogue substance Isodecyl methacrylate was determined to be log Pow: 6.45 to 7.44 at 22°C (according to OECD guideline 117 and EU method A.8, Evonik RohMax GmbH, 2010). The other existing measured log Pow value also measured with HPLC-method showed the same order of magnitude (log Pow >3) log Pow: 4.92 (Fujisawa S, 1981). Even the calculated log Pow of Isodecyl methacrylate (KOWWIN 1.67) is 5.62 and therefore the calculation method is valid for this group of substances. The calculated partition coefficient for n-Decyl methacrylate was determined to be log Pow: 5.70 (KOWWIN 1.67). Therefore the log Pow for n-Decyl methacrylate is assumed to be > 3.
