Administrative data

First-aid measures

- General: The injured person is moved from the source of exposure to fresh air as soon as possible, kept warm and at rest. If unconscious solved tightclothes and the patient placed in the recovery position. If breathing is difficult, supply oxygen and apply artificial respiration. In cardiac arrest, cardiac compression. - Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with water (keep your eyes open, remove any contact lenses). Contact your doctor in case of persistent eye irritation.
- Ingestion: see your doctor immediately. Rinse mouth with water and give water to drink, assuming full consciousness.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable fire extinguishing agent: Product is not combustible. Use material that is appropriate for the surrounding fire.
- Fire extinguishers that should not be used for safety reasons: Water jet can cause splashes of burning material.
- Fire and explosion: Cadmium dust may cause dust explosion. When heated forming toxic gases.
- Personal protective equipment for extinguishing fire : Fire-fighters must use special fire-fighting equipment. The public must be kept away.

Accidental release measures

- Safety precautions for protection of personnel: Keep people and animals away from the contaminated area. It must be ensured that each workstation has sufficient ventilation, that the work, construction and equipment complies with all legislated requirements and that the personnel uses personal protective equipment in accordance with applicable instructions for protective equipment.
- Safety precautions to protect the environment: Heavy metal in the product is hazardous. Limit the spread of the product and prevent discharges to ground, watercourses and drains.
- Suitable methods for cleaning-up: Spill collected in marked and sealed containers. Waste management, see item Disposal Considerations

Handling and storage

- Handling: Eating and smoking should not occur in cadmium related area. Thorough cleaning before the repair work of cadmium contaminated material. Do not breathe dust. Uncovered skin should be washed with soap and water. Nails kept short-cut. Pregnant women should not handle the product.
- Storage: Store dry. Storage rooms should be locked.
