- PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
- Method: A stock solution of 60 mg/L was prepared by weighing the test substance into water. The solution was treated for 60 sec with an ultra-turrax at 8000 rpm and stirred for 24 h on a magnetic stirrer. To remove undissolved particles, the resulting emulsion was filtered using a filter with a pore size of 7-12 µm.

Additional information
One experimental study is available investigating the short-term effects of the test substance to aquatic invertebrates (2000). The study was performed according to the EU Method C.2 with the water flea Daphnia magna. Test concentrations of nominal 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 mg/L including a test medium control were tested under static test conditions. Verification of test concentrations was performed using gas chromatography. At the beginning of the study the test concentrations were 0.48, 0.82, 1.65, 3.26 mg/L. They slightly decreased to 0.43, 0.78, 1.44, 3.17 mg/L at the end of the test after 48 h. Thus, the effect concentrations were based on the arithmetic mean of measured concentrations. Immobilisation of Daphnia magna was observed after 24 and 48 h resulting in an EC50 (48 h) of 0.61 mg/L. All validity criteria were met.
