Description of key information

According to “ANNEX IX- STANDARD INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBSTANCES MANUFACTURED OR IMPORTED IN QUANTITIES OF 100 TONNES OR MORE, study for Stability is only required if stability of the substance is considered to be critical.
Expert Judgement
(TEGBE or 2 -(2 -(2 butoxyethoxy) ethoxy)ethanol, as substance from Glycol Ethers Category is stable for long periods.
Glycol Ethers are expected to be stable for the recommended shelf life of 24 months for drums and 6 months for bulk if the container has been unopened and stored under proper handling and storage conditions
Therefore testing for Stability: thermal, sunlight, metals does not need to be performed.

Additional information

Stability: thermal, sunlight, metals

Stability:Stable under normal conditions. May form peroxides on prolonged exposure to air and light.

Incompatibility:Strong bases, Strong oxidizing agents, acids

(TEGBE or 2 -(2 -(2 butoxyethoxy) ethoxy)ethanol, as substance from Glycol Ethers Category is stable for long periods.

Glycol Ethers are expected to be stable for the recommended shelf life of 24 months for drums and 6 months for bulk if the container has been unopened and stored under proper handling and storage conditions.

The substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, on the basis of the chemical structure or by heating to cause a fire or explosion.
