- Testing for CAS 55184-72-0 is covered by tests with CAS 848588-96-5. Both substances are very similar since they differ mainly in the share of C13 (CAS 848588-96-5 C13> 80%; CAS 55184-72-0 > 95%). In the non GLP Klimisch 1 key study from Frischmann (2013), the n-octanol solubility of Sodium bis(C11-14-isoalkyl, C13-rich) sulfosuccinate was determined according to OECD 105 with the exception that n-octanol instead of water was used.
The octanol solubility of Sodium bis(C11-14-isoalkyl, C13-rich) sulfosuccinate is greater than 500 g/L. Sodium bis(C11-14-isoalkyl, C13-rich) sulfosuccinate is miscible with octanol in any proportion. With increasing amount of test item a gel is formed.
Testing for CAS 55184-72-0 is covered by tests with CAS 848588-96-5. Both substances are very similar since they differ mainly in the share of C13 (CAS 848588-96-5 C13> 80%; CAS 55184-72-0 > 95%). Hence, read across from CAS 848588-96-5 (source) to CAS 55184-72-0 (target) is considered as appropriate for both substances.
The results of this study are considered relevant and reliable for the risk assessment.

While being added to the solvent, clear solutions with increasing viscosity were being formed, resulting in a gel after the addition of 2.0 g test item to 2 ml n-octanol.
