Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which melts above 300°C

Description of key information

Boiling point: DTPMP salt melts above 450°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The requirement to conduct a boiling point study for the substance is waived because the substance has a melting temperature of >450°C. This statement is supported by a recent, reliable DSC test which demonstrates that DTPMP acid does not melt below 450°C. During heating, gradual decomposition of the substance was observed. Salts would also be expected to undergo thermal degradation as the parent acid.
