Conclusions:
The mean of two determinations of the surface tension of a 90 % saturated solution of the test item in water was determined to be 57.2 mN/m at 20.2 °C.
Executive summary:

EU Method A.5. – The surface tension of the test item was determined using the OECD harmonised ring test method.  The procedure employed was designed to be compatible with Method A.5. Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

An instrumentation calibration was performed using ultra-pure water and a calibration factor determined.  Duplicate 90 % saturated solutions, were prepared and immediately introduced to the appliance and thermally equilibrated to 20 °C ± 0.5 °C.  The surface tension of each solution was measured repeatedly until the standard deviation of the last five determinations was equal or lower than 0.1 mN/m.

The mean surface tension following two measurements of a 90 % saturated solution of test item was determined to be 57.2 mN/m at 20.2 °C.
