Description of key information

No information is available on bioaccumulation and generation is not deemed necessary. GPM-800 is not expected to bioaccumulate significantly in aquatic organisms upon exposure and thus no bioaccumulation test is proposed.

The log Pow was estimated to be > 1.2 at 20 ºC based on the combined characteristics of moderate water solubility and moderate to high lipophilicity of GPM-800. Accumulation is per definition the net result of absorption (uptake), distribution, metabolism and excretion of a substance in an organism. Even though the substance has a very wide molecular weight range, the representative molecular weight was 800 g/mol. Molecules with such a high molecular weight often show steric hindrance of passage across cell membranes. In case absorption would occur, wide distribution of GPM-800 throughout the body is expected based on its water solubility and its molecular weight range. As GPM-800 dissolves both in water and in n-octanol, it is expected not to have a special preference for fatty tissues. GPM-800 is expected to be excreted via urine. Based on these considerations, GPM-800 is not expected to bioaccumulate significantly in aquatic organisms upon exposure and thus no bioaccumulation test is proposed.
