Test substance input data:
Molecular weight: 210.28 g/mol
log Kow: 4.48
Vapour pressure: 0.31 Pa
Water solubility: 0.01 g/l
Melting point: -80.0 °C
The value of 10 mg/l for the water solubility is a crude geometric mean of the two EpiWin results for water solubility plus the HenryWin result combined with the vapour pressure key study of 0.31 Pa (20 °C).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
According to a Mackay Level I model calculation the main target compartments for 2,2,4(or 2,4,4)-trimethylhexane-1,6-diisocyanate will be sediment (30 %) and soil (30 %) followed by the atmosphere (28 %) and the hydrosphere (12 %). Environmental distribution considerations for 2,2,4(or 2,4,4)-trimethylhexane-1,6-diisocyanate are of little relevance because the reaction with water is expected to eliminate the substance from the environment rapidly.
