PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
- Method: Calculated amounts of the test substance and 60 mg Tween 20 per tank to produce the desired test concentrations were added to the water in each tank and were homogeniously distributed.
The test substance seemed to be homogeneously distributed in the test vessels for all concentrations and at the start and the end of exposure.

The LC50 (96h) of the test substance is 24 mg/L (nominal concentration).
Executive summary:

In this guideline (EU C.1) study, the 96 hour LC50 to fish for the test material (EC 213-426-9) was determined to be 24 mg/l. The test was conducted in Danio rerio (previous name: Brachydanio rerio) under static conditions (freshwater), with test concentrations ranging from 10 to 100 mg/l. The study result does not trigger classification as hazardous for the aquatic environment under the the conditions of the Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) regulation (1272/2008), as the test material is readily biodegradable and has a BCF <500.

Additional information

In a toxicity study on fish according to the Official Journal of the European Communities L251, vol.27, C-01, 19/09/1984 (CIBA-GEIGY Ltd., 1990), the toxicity of the test item was determined. Zebra fish were used as test organisms and the LC50 (96 h) determined in the test was 24 mg/L.
