Additional information

Two studies are available for skin irritation, both performed with 6 rabbits and according to or similar to OECD 404. One study was based on test material that has an average molecular weight that is greater (790 g/mol) than covered by the substance definition (104-555 g/mol).

Very slight irritation was observed in one study (280 g/mol), no irritation was observed in the other (790 g/mol).

Two studies are available on eye irritation both performed similar to or according to OECD 405. One study was performed with 6 rabbits and a low molecular weight test material (280 g/mol) the other was performed with one rabbit and with a test material that reflects a low molecular weight polymer (790 g/mol).

Slight irritation was observed in one study and irritation in the other. EDA EO PO is therefore considered to be irritating to the Eye.

Effects on eye irritation: irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

The findings in the available studies on skin irritation do not warrant classification according to the EU criteria.

The reported slight irritation of the eye in one study and the irritation reported in the other, warrant classification as "irritating" to the eye.
