Explanation for the modification of the dose descriptor starting point:

The DNEL for systemic effects via the inhalation route is determined on the basis of the inhaled OECD 413 study in which the NOAEC was 546 mg/m3.  The following correction was made to the NOAEC: Modification for daily exposure duration and respiratory volume (rat to human worker (8h)): (6h/8h)* (6.7 m3/day/10 m3/day).  Therefore the corrected NOAEC for repeated-dose systemic effects via the inhalation route is: = 546*(6/8)*(6.7/10) = 274 mg/m3
