Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Significant exposure of birds is not expected. The available mammalian data of the test substance can be used to derive a PNECoral for secondary poisoning.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The distribution of TAC in the environment has been assessed in the chemical safety assessment. As the substance is mainly used on specific sites on industrial scale, the exposure of the environment is considered negligible. A considerable exposure of the food chain (soil organisms or aquatic organisms) is not anticipated. The KOC of the test substance is below 3, thus, an accumulation of the substance in soil is not expected. Therefore, a significant exposure of birds via food chain is not expected. Furthermore, the substance is considered to cause low hazard in the food chain, because it is not a PBT or vPvB substance and long-term effects in mammalians have not been detected. As exposure of birds is not expected, toxicity testing on birds is not indicated. The PNEC oral has been derived from data on mammalian toxicity and the chemical safety assessment indicates no further need for testing.
