Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In contact with water, 2 -EHA will hydrolyse slowly and photodegradation in air will also proceed slowly. In water, sewage treatment plants and soil rapid degradation is expected, since 2 -EHA was readily biodegradable in OECD 301 -Screening tests. Based on an estimated log Pow = 4 a potential for bioaccumulation cannot be excluded.

Following the final decision on CCH-D-2114340871-51-01/F a bioaccumulation study according to the OECD Guideline 305 was conducted. The experimentally determined kinetic BCF was at 347 L/kg.

Therefore, the substance does not fulfull the P, nor the B criteria and is not considered as PBT.

Adsorption of 2-EHA to solid soil phase is not expected. A fugacity model (Mackay Level I) revealed the atmosphere as the main target compartment for distribution which is also indicated by the substance's physicochemical properties.
