- Justification:
The assessed substance, [3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl]silanetriol is the hydrolysis product of the submission substance.
[3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl]trimethoxysilane hydrolyses rapidly in contact with water to form [3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl]silanetriol and methanol.
The silanol hydrolysis product, [3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl]silanetriol may persist in the environment but does not meet the criteria for B or T, and therefore the hydrolysis product should not be concluded as PBT or vPvB.
There is a testing proposal to clarify the genetic toxicity potential for germ cells following a positive result in a comet assay.
