Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The adsorption of 14C-2,6-DTBP (which is structurally similar to 2,4-DTBP) was tested in batch equilibrium studies using three sediment types (EPA-5, EPA-8, and EPA15). 14C-2,6-DTBP was shown to be stable during the 112 hour equilibration period, as determined by high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) analysis of the adsorption supernatant from a test replicate. The results indicated that the adsorption characteristics were similar among the three sediment types tested. The adsorption constants based upon the organic carbon content ranged from 2570 to 6960. There was little apparent correlation of adsorption constant with sediment texture, organic matter, cation exchange capacity or pH.
