Conclusions:
Under the assumption of evenly distributed emissions into air, soil and water the EPIWIN Mackay Level III model predicts that the greatest portion of 1,2,3-trichloropropane is found in the soil compartment.
Executive summary:

The environmental distribution behaviour of 1,2,3-trichloropropane was predicted with the Estimation Programs Interface for Microsoft® Windows (EPIWIN V3.10, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, Washington, D.C.), LEV3EPI fugacity model used to predict partitioning among air, water, sediment and soil. Under the assumption of evenly distributed emissions into air, soil and water (1000 kg/hour) the model predicted the following mass distribution of the substance in the environment: 18.3 % in air, 34.9 % in water, 46.7 % in soil, 0.122 % in sediment. The Persistence time predicted by the model was 335 hours.
