Additional information

The results of the in-vitro eye irritation testing wit incubated chicken eggs resulted in mean irritation score of 4.86, corresponding to an assessment as slightly irritant, without triggering a classification.

An in-vivo study in albino rabbits showed a slight redness of the conjunctivae and a slight to short clear swelling of the conjunctivae. Signs of systemic effects of were not observed. The alterations of the eyes after instillation of do not meet the criteria for classification.

Neither cutaneous reactions nor systemic clinical signs related were detected in the dermal toxicity test.

Corrosive or irritant properties due to alkalinity can be excluded. The pH of a 10-% solution is 10.1.

An occupational medical assessment stated no indication of an increase of skin problems caused by exposure with the substance, e.g. corrosive/ irritation effects and allergic skin sensitization of the employees with long-term exposure.

According to the rules and criteria for classification of dangerous substances and preparations, the test item needs not to be classified. No irritation with the exception of a slight eye irritation was observed.
