Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Short-term toxicity data are available for all three trophic levels (fish, Daphnia and algae). Daphnia magna turned out to be the most sensitive species with an EC50 (48h) of 8.91 mg/L (nominal, 100% calculated). The EC50 (96h) for fish was determined to be 32.1 mg/L (nominal, 100% calculated). For green algae, an ErC50 (72h) of 79 mg/L (nominal) and a NOEC of 9.2 mg/L (nominal) is reported.

No data on long-term toxicity on fish and aquatic invertebrates are available. However, the chemical safety assessment does not indicate the need to investigate further the long-term toxicity to fish.

In a respiration inhibition test with activated sludge the NOEC (3h) was 100 mg/l for 30% aqueous solution and 30 mg/L was calculated for 100% pure test substance. Therefore, the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge in sewage treatment plants is not anticipated when the substance is introduced in appropriate low concentrations.
