Additional information

The bioaccumulation in aquatic species study has not been conducted as the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (the substance has a log octanol water partition coefficient of less than 3).

The screening criterion for bioaccumulation in the PBT assessment is that a substance with a measured or predicted log Kow of ≤4.5 is not B or vB. 2-methylbut-2-ene has a measured log Kow of 2.67 and therefore based on the log Kow, 2-methylbut-2-ene is not B or vB and this is further indicated by the low calculated BCF of 37.1 (TDG part III, p31 QSAR (Veith et al, 1979)) and 26.8 (BCFBAF v3.00, EPISuite 4.00). The predictions from these models indicate that 2 -methylbut-2-ene is does not meet the screening criteria for B or vB.
