Description of key information

Weight of Evidence used from two reliability 2 studies.  Log Kow  for 2-methylbut-2-ene estimated to be in the range 2.64 to 2.67. The result does not indicate that 2-methylbut-2-ene would meet the criteria (log Kow ≥4.5) for bioaccumulative (B) in the PBT assessment.

Weight of Evidence used from two reliability 2 studies to estimate Log Kow. The first study, Abrahams et. al. (1994) is an experimental determination for 2-methylbut-2-ene. This study was used in the OECD SIDS (2005) for CAS 513-35-9 and given reliability 2. The second study is a QSAR calculation, Meylan et. al. (1995) using KOWWIN Program (v1.67) in EPE Suite v. 4.0. Log Kow for 2-methylbut-2-ene is estimated to be in the range 2.64 to 2.67. The result does not indicate that 2-methylbut-2-ene would meet the criteria (log Kow ≥4.5) for bioaccumulative (B) in the PBT assessment.
