Additional information

TBHP is expected to partition mainly to the water compartment with little bioaccumulation in the aquatic environment.

Abiotic degradation is slow, although hydrolysis rate is somewhat increased by the presence of Fe ions. Any material hydrolysed to tert-butanol can be expected to inherently degrade in the environment.

TBHP is not readily biodegradable and may partially inhibit bacterial degradation. However some degradation was seen in simulation testing and it is not expected that TBHP will persist in the environment.
