Description of key information

Explosivity test is not required: Organic Peroxide Type F classification applies.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

In accordance with section 1 of Annex XI, testing is not necessary as UN TDG Model Regulations prescribe a specific classification for aqueous solutions containing up to 72 wt% TBHP. This classification as UN 3109 (Organic Peroxide Type F) is associated with warning that heating may cause fire, but excludes explosivity (which is associated with Organic Peroxide Types A and B only)

Justification for classification or non-classification

UN TDG Model Regulations prescribe a specific classification for aqueous solutions containing up to 72 wt% TBHP. This classification (UN 3109: Organic Peroxide Type F) is associated with warning that heating may cause fire, but excludes explosivity (which is associated with Organic Peroxide Types A and B only)
