Description of key information

Algae toxicity data is not available for EC 249-109-7, but an OECD 201 study is available for an analogous substance and suitable for read across. The EbL50 (72 h) value of 240 mg/L loading rate WAF and an ErL50 (0-72hr) value of 410 mg/L loading rate WAF were obtained.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
240 mg/L

Additional information

The acute toxicity of EC 224-235-5, an analog of EC 249 -109 -7, was evaluated in freshwater algae in accordance with OECD Guideline 201. Exposure of Scenedesmus subspicatusto the test material gave an EbL50 (72h) value of 240 mg/L loading rate WAF and an ErL50 (0-72hr) value of 410 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate was 220 mg/L loading rate WAF. In accordance with EU CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 classification is not regulated for acute aquatic toxicity.
