Reference
Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation based on log Kow <=3

Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted, as the potential for bioaccumulation is extremely low, regarding the log Kow of 1.63, the readily biodegradability and the presence in metabolism processes in most organisms (as L-lactide is rapidly hydrolysed to lactic acid in aquatic environments). Hence, the target substance L-lactide is unlikely to bioconcentrate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
