Executive summary:

The dynamic viscosity at 20 °C and at 40 °C of the substance was investigated in a GLP study according to OECD guideline 114 (2011) by using a cone/plate-rheometer. The dynamic viscosity has been determined to be 59.35 ± 0.37 mPa s at 20 °C and 19.82 ± 0.05 mPa s at 40 °C.

Additional information

The kinematic viscosity at 20 °C of the substance has been determined to be 59.09 mm2/s in a non-GLP supporting study (Blaul, 2012) according to ASTM D 7042 (which is equivalent to ISO 3104 / ASTM D445) with a rotational viscometer.

With the denisity (den) of the substance (1.0457 g/cm3) the kinematic viscosity (kin) is connected directly with the dynamic viscosity (dyn) via dyn = den x kin.

As a result the calculated dynamic viscosity from the measured density and kinematic viscosity is: 1.0457 g/cm3 x 59.09 mm2/s = 61.81 mP s. This is in the range of the measured key-value and supports the validity of the key study (Sonnenschein, 2011)
