First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move affected person to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with large amounts of water for at least

15 minutes. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Do not use organic

solvents. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, foam and dry powder.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon and phosphorus and aluminium

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Respiratory and protective body equipment required for fire

fighting personnel.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Small spillages:

Sweep up or vacuum and place into sealable container for

disposal whilst wearing personal protective equipment.

Large spillages:

Incinerate or place in a suitable container for disposal by

a licensed contractor in accordance with local or national

regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Keep containers closed at all times. Use with local exhaust

ventilation. Employ grounding, venting and explosion relief

provisions in accordance with accepted engineering practices

in process operations capable of generating dust and/or

static electricity.  Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid

prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Avoid dust

formation. Suitable particle filter dust masks, chemical

resistant gloves and protective clothing should be worn over

the whole body.

Storage: Store in the original container, securely closed, in a cool

and dry atmosphere. Do not store near peroxides, oxidising

agents or sources of ignition. Use proper grounding

procedures.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be packed into 10 kg polyethylene bags

and placed into separate cardboard boxes.

If production of pelletised plastic and production of final

articles takes place at different companies, pelletised

plastic will be packed into 25 kg paper bags or 200 kg

containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The substance can form an explosive dust/air mixture.

Therefore avoid dust formation and inhalation, and control

ignition sources.

Chemical reaction with water: None known.

Dust explosion: No data available.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Spillages are to be swept up and disposed of by

incineration.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Chemical treatment is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the recommended method of destruction.

Incineration with flue gas scrubbing is required.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance as such will not enter the public domain.
