First-aid measures

Skin contact
Wash with large volumes of soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation develops, get medical attention.
Eye contact
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
Inhalation
Move to fresh air. In case of irritation of respiratory system or mucous membranes, seek medical attention. In case of indisposition, seek medical attention. In case of prolonged exposure, seek medical attention.
Ingestion:
Immediately give plenty (> 500 ml) of water (if possible charcoal slurry). In case of spontaneous vomiting be sure that vomitus can freely drain due of danger of suffocation. Give water repeatedly. Artificial induction of vomiting should be restricted to first aid staff.
Give nothing by mouth in cases of unconsciousness or convulsion. Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:
All conventional media suitable.
Fire Fighting Instructions:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent skin and eye contact with fire situations.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards:
Under fire conditions, toxic and irritating fumes may be emitted. Dusts can form an explosive mixture with air.
Known or Anticipated hazardous Products of Combustion:
CO and CO2

Accidental release measures

Safeguards (Personnel):
If excessive dust is created, wear dust mask or respirator to keep exposure below the permissible exposure level for particulate matter. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
Spill procedure:
Contain spilled material. Take up and place in secure closed containers. All waste materials should be packaged, labelled, and transported in accordance with all national and local requirements.

Handling and storage

Handling (Personnel):
Avoid prolonged contact with skin or eyes. Do not handle in a manner that creates excessive dust.
Handling (Physical Aspects):
Provide appropriate ventilation. Secure container after each use. Avoid extreme temperatures.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering controls: Good general ventilation should be sufficient to control airborne levels.
Eye / face protection requirements: Chemical goggles are recommended to avoid contact with eyes.
Skin protection requirements : For brief contact, normal work attire should be sufficient. When prolonged or frequently repeated contact could occur, use protective clothing impervious to this material.
Respiratory protection requirements: Under normal use conditions, with adequate ventilation, no special respiratory protective equipment is required. If airborne concentrations exceed the OSHA exposure limit for dust, a NIOSH approved dust mask is recommended.
Exposure guidelines:
Particulates not otherwise regulated
Recommend exposure limit: 5 mg/m^3
OSHA TWA 15 mg/m^3

Stability and reactivity

This product is stable at ambient conditions.

Disposal considerations

Waste from residues / unused products Residual chemical should be disposed by incineration or by other modes of disposal in compliance with local legislation.
Contaminated packaging Contaminated packaging material should be treated equivalent to residual chemical. Clean packaging material should be subjected to waste management schemes (recovery recycling, reuse) according to local legislation.
