Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation : In case of discomfort get medical treatment. Ensure the presence of fresh air.

Skin contact : Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Remove any contaminated clothing. If

skin irritation persists, call a physician.

Eye contact : Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. Consult a physician.

Ingestion : Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing

media

: Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Sand, Water spray jet, Dry powder

Extinguishing media which

shall not be used for safety

reasons

: High volume water jet.

Specific hazards during fire

fighting

: In case of fire formation of dangerous gases or vapours (nitrogen oxide) is possible.

Special protective equipment

for fire-fighters

: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Further information : Cool containers / tanks with water spray. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing

water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions

: Do not let enter drains/ surface water/ ground water.

Methods for cleaning up : Use mechanical handling equipment. Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers.

Keep container tightly closed. Dispose of recovered material according to

the regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling

Advice on safe handling : Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Tightly seal any

begun barrels after use. Limit the inventory of substances at the workplace to the

amount required for continued operations. The danger areas must be delimited and

identified using relevant warning and safety signs. Floors, walls and other surfaces

must be regularly cleaned. Use approved industrial vacuum cleaners (of the H class)

for cleaning only.

a) All work processes must always be designed so that

inhalation of the substance as well as skin and eye contact

are excluded. As far as possible, closed equipment must be

used during transfer, metered feeding and sampling. In the

case of handling in open systems, any dusts that may form

must be extracted directly at the point of origin. The

extracted air may only be returned to the work area after

sufficient cleaning with tested equipment.

If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not

possible or are insufficient, a suitable respirator (half-face or full-face respirator including a P3 fine dust filter)

must be worn. In order to avoid skin and eye contact,

tested gloves (e.g. nitrile) and suitable protective

clothing (disposable protective suit of class III, protection class 5 (particle proof)) as well as suitable eye protection (e.g.

tightly fitting goggles) are required.

Contaminated clothing must be changed immediately.

Outdoor clothing must be kept separate from working clothes.

The supply of the substance in the workplace must be reduced

to the amount necessary for the continuation of work. The

number of workers active in the affected work areas must be

kept as low as possible.

In addition, these areas must be separated off and labelled

with relevant warning and safety signs. All of the rooms,

plant and equipment must be cleaned regularly.

After skin contact, the affected parts of the body must be

cleaned thoroughly and immediately using plenty of water.

b) Work hygiene

Sufficient washing facilities should be available in the

immediate vicinity of the working area.

Storage

Requirements for storage

areas and containers

: Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Route exhaust air into

the open air via appropriate separators or scrubbers only. Positively avoid ingress

into the soil. Observe and comply with any legislation governing the storage or use

of water-hazardous substances. Keep and store locked up, with access only for

competent personnel. Store, handle or transport in tightly sealed, clearly and visibly

marked containers only.

The product must be stored in a cool state, in tightly

closed original packing drums that are protected against

moisture. Ensure good room ventilation, possibly local

exhaust ventilation. Only release waste gas to the outside

air via suitable separators or scrubbers. Storerooms must be

maintained according to the principles of good industrial

hygiene. All opened packing drums must be closed tightly

again after use. Avoid product residues on the packing

drums. The substance must be stored so that persons from

outside the company do not have access to it. Provide for

measures to retain the product and extinguishing water.

Take account of Technical Rule 514.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 80 Liter Klemmdeckelfässer mit PE-Inliner (50 kg)

Exposure controls / personal protection

Components with workplace control parameters

Engineering measures

Design all manufacturing processes such that inhalation of the substance as well as skin or eye contact will be

prevented. Use sealed devices for refilling, metering or sampling wherever possible. Extract any dust immediately

at the point of origin when handling open systems. Keep the number of people working in the affected

areas as low as possible.

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection : Use respiratory protective equipment (half-face or full-face respirator including a P3

fine dust filter) where dusts are present.

Hand protection : Nitrile. Follow EN 374. Ensure that the type of material and the quality of the body

protective equipment correspond with the recommendations of the producer for your

particular type of work.

Eye protection : Safety glasses. Goggles. Ensure that the type of material and the quality of the body

protective equipment correspond with the recommendations of the producer for your

particular type of work.

Skin and body protection : Use a disposable protective suit of class III, protection class 5 (particle-proof), where

dusts are present.

Hygiene measures : When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.

Keep working clothes separately. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.

Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Wash with soap and lukewarm water.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire:

None  Chemical reaction with water:  Due to the chemical structure, no dangerous reaction is to be expected.  Dust explosion:  An explosion risk is not to be expected.

STABILITY AND REACTIVITY

Fire may cause evolution of: : nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, phosphor oxide

Disposal considerations

Product : In accordance with the waste recycling/disposal regulations, has to be taken to an approved

waste disposal facility. The classification of the waste has to be made according to

its source in accordance with the European waste code regulations.

Waste key for the unused product : 070708 other still bottoms and reaction residues
