Description of key information

The results of Guideline tests (EEC A.17) show that Sodium perborate monohydrate has to be classified as oxidizer. In contrast, the tetrahydrate has no oxidizing properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Sodium perborates were testet according to the Guideline EEC A.17. The test with the tetrahydrate resulted in a lower burning rate than with the reference substance barium nitrate, therefore the substance is not classified to be an oxidiser according to the criteria of the guideline EEC A.17. In contrast, the monohydrate has to be classified as oxidizer.
