Description of key information
Additional information
Appearance/physical state/colour
Pyrazolone T (Pyrazolones) is present as a yellow coloured organic solid.
Melting point/freezing point
The melting point of chemical Pyrazolone T is found to be 229.65°C.
Boiling point
The boiling point of chemical Pyrazolone T is found to be 536.5°C.
Density
The density of chemical 1H-Pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid, 4,5-dihydro-5-oxo-1-(4-sulfophenyl)- was determined to be 1.75±0.1 g/cm3 at 20 deg C and 760 Torr
Particle Size Distribution
The particle size distribution (granulometry) of Pyrazolone T by Rotap sieve shaker analysis was found to be in the range of 75 micrometer to 500 micrometer. Majority of the particles were found to be in the size more than 150 (40.32%) micrometer in size.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of chemical Pyrazolone T is found to be 8.92E-014 mm Hg. This value is equivalent to 1.189E-11 Pa.
Partition coefficient
The partition coefficient of chemical Pyrazolone T is found to be -1.83.
Water solubility
The water solubility of chemical Pyrazolone T Is found to be 272.6 mg/L.
Surface tension
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the study need only be conducted if surface activity is a desired property of the chemical.
The chemical 5-oxo-1-(4-sulphophenyl)-2-pyrazoline-3-carboxylic acid (Common Name: Pyrazolone T) is used as an intermediate for manufacturing other chemical.
For this use, surface activity is not a desired property. Hence this study was considered for waiver.
Flash point
In accordance with Section 2 of REACH Annex XI, information requirement section 7.9, this study does not need to be conducted based on the physical state of the substance.
The test chemical Pyrazolone T is a solid at room temperature.According to ECHA guidance, flash point is only relevant to substances that are liquid at room temperature.
Hence this study can be considered for waiver.
Auto flammability
The chemical 5-oxo-1-(4-sulphophenyl)-2-pyrazoline-3-carboxylic acid (Common Name: Pyrazolone T) does not catch fire upon exposure to air at normal conditions of temperature and pressure. Thus the chemical is not likely to be "Auto flammable" and hence this end point was considered for waiver.
Flammability
The chemical 5-oxo-1-(4-sulphophenyl)-2-pyrazoline-3-carboxylic acid (Common Name: Pyrazolone T) has an NFPA rating of 1 for Flammability.
Thus the chemical is not likely to be "Flammable" under normal conditions of use, storage and transportation and hence this end point was considered for waiver.
Explosiveness
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the study does not need to be conducted since there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule of 5-oxo-1-(4-sulphophenyl)-2-pyrazoline-3-carboxylic acid (Common Name: Pyrazolone T). Thus, the chemical is likely to be "Non explosive". Hence this end point was considered for waiver.
Oxidising properties
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the chemical substance 5-oxo-1-(4-sulphophenyl)-2-pyrazoline-3-carboxylic acid (Common Name: Pyrazolone T) is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, on the basis of the chemical structure. It is an organic substances containing oxygen but no halogen atom and these elements are not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen. Thus, the chemical is not likely to be oxidising and hence this end point was considered for waiver.
Viscosity
In accordance with Section 2 of REACH Annex XI, information requirement section 7.17, this study cannot be conducted on solid materials or gases. According to ECHA Chapter 7 guidance, viscosity measurement is only relevant to liquids.Pyrazolone T is a solid at room temperature.Hence this study can be considered for waiver.
