Description of key information

According to OECD 111 guideline, the half-life for 1,1-di(tert-amylperoxy)cyclohexane at 25°C has been determined to be 1.43 hour at pH 4, 5.36 hours at pH 7 and 6.41 hours at pH 9. At pH 1.2 and 37°C, the half-life is < 10 min.

Therefore, 1,1-di(tert-amylperoxy)cyclohexane can be considered as very rapidly hydrolysable.

There is no test of ready biodegradability performed with cyclohexylidenebis[tert-amyl] peroxide. Ready biodegradability of this substance is thus read-across from data obtained with cyclohexylidenebis[tert-amyl] peroxide: the biodegradation of this peroxide totaled 5% at the end of the test and thus was considered as not readily biodegradable.
